Well since Rolling Room Photography is doing quite well and I’ve been receiving a good amount of pictures from followers showing there vans and project vans I figured I would show all of you my project van.
She’s a 1975 Dodge Tradesman B200, 318C.I. V8, 727 auto trans, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Factory A/C (Not dealer installed). She has 21,860 actual miles. This van has been off the road since 1985. originally from Daytona Beach, FL, the original owner imported her to Canada back in 1976 where he used the van only in the summer and in 1985 when he got married he parked the van in mid-customization and never touched it since. She was stored in an airplane Hangar for many years and recently (I’d imagine in the last 10 years) was stored outside where some rust accumulated on the driver side rocker panel. Otherwise the rest of the van in in great shape.
This summer my Stepfather Paul and my very good friend Tom and I have done a lot of work to this van, including a full engine rebuilt (minus bottom end), full rebuild of the coolant system, suspension, rear end, fuel system. Every gasket and seal was changed, fluid, filters, and an extensive list of new parts.
I’m hoping to have her ready for an upcoming event in PA this September, left to do are some minor brake work, check the wiper motor and horn, drill my valve covers, change the coil and build an exhaust. I’ll probably temporarily fix the rust to get the van safetied and work on that once she is legal and road worthy.
First picture is from when I first bought the van 2 years ago. The rest of the pictures are from this summer, just crappy cell phone pictures since I’ve been working on it and haven’t taken any good pictures of her.
